Binary Existence Yasmine's work included in pop-up exhibition by BB Contemporary
      Binary Existence, July 12 - July 18, 2012

      Gene Shapiro Auction House Yasmine Chatila will participate in BB Contempoarary's pop-up exhibition Binary Existence. Co-curated by Natasha Ulyanov and Lindsey Sullivan, Binary Existence seeks to explore the notion of identity, playing on perceptions of status, gender, and societal roles. In addition to works by Yasmine, the exhibition will include works by Anton Kandinsky, Jess Larson, Dulce Pinzon, Shantell Martin, Lee GanU, and Jin-Seob Yun and will be on view at the Gene Shapiro Auction House.

    Second Installment of Yasmine's Diary Entries From Her Surveillance Project

    Upper West Side - Friday 4:30 pm I have set up the equipment next to the bed by the window. This is a new location with a courtyard view, Hitchcock would be jealous. I have no idea what the fall of night will reveal but I am feeling hopeful. I wonder if the uptown people will be more tame than the Chelsea characters from last month's entry.

    Chelsea, March 20, 6:35 pm It is my third night of surveillance from this Chelsea location. So far there are some promising characters. The nature of their qualities disturbs me since they are mostly physically unattractive persons, with blatant sexual behavior, that is not aesthetic in any stretch of the imagination.
